The survival of Kate as well if choosing to kill her is therefore unexpected and not meant to be predictable. The expected consequence of the scenario is that one person will die, as that is what the trap is designed to do.

  • For the suffocation chamber: the choice you make is who to kill, not who to save - in that sense, it isn't a puzzle to solve, but a decision to make.
  • Did this only happen once, or again in subsequent playthroughs?
  • You mentioned Mark died due to being unable to attack as Kate.
  • Hey u/trevers17 - I just wanted to reach out about a couple of the points you mentioned here in this comment. The only parts that are good in coop are the finale, the wall trap, the control room and the few dialogue only scenes, maybe some of the exploration segments too.

Normally it would take a while to play through it because of the long walk segments but since those are split between the two players, one has a very long and intense chasing scene with dumet while the other player just walks outside with mark or charlie doing absolutely nothing. In general, act 3 ist really weird in coop. Or how in act 3, i have seen playthroughs where charlie was alone, then teleported to the slaughterhouse and was suddenly with Mark, the entire reunion just gets skipped.

For example, when one player is Charlie in the basement, he just teleports into the furnace because the other player did a very easy wine puzzle not slow enough. Which means the other player just gets teleported from spot to spot. In the other games, this was handled well but in TDIMs case, the parts are very rarely equal in length, especially with all the puzzles that either take too long or are done in seconds. The biggest problem is that the game forces the plot forward when one player finishes an area.

For almost all of the traps it feels like the second player was just an afterthought, especially in the furnace or the dark room. Dead characters appearing in cutscenes, cutscenes that don't work, bugs with the inventory.Īnd gameplay-wise: its just completely unbalanced. The worst were probably game breaking bugs as well as a bug that just forced charlie to die. Bug-wise, i havent seen a single playthrough where there were no problems at all.
